Towards the south, to the warmth of another Algarve, Herdade da Corte is a Rural Tourism accommodation created from a commitment of the past, the present and the well being.
Located preferentially for those who like to be near the sea, but away from its traditional mass tourism label, Herdade da Corte is the perfect retreat to explore the contrasts of an authentic and genuine Algarve.

It is in its two “Montes” (estates), “Monte da Beleza” and “Monte do Lavrador”, that you will find comfortable rooms, decorated in a simple, rustic yet practical style. The restaurant is another of the delights of this unit, offering authentic regional dishes, with a certain touch of modernity and a great desire to promote the food tradition of this ancient region of Portugal. The sound of world music or jazz in the background (with concerts sometimes), together with the nature of the place, complete this perfect setting.
Among willows and ash trees, along a trail of rosemary, thyme, rock roses, carob and strawberry trees, you can walk around to your heart’s content without leaving the estate. Tavira is just a few kilometres away, as well as the lovely Ria Formosa, a unique landscape of rare beauty and singular habitats, which is one of the most important bird watching destinations in Portugal and is the region with the highest diversity of bird species in the country.
We saw in this part of the Algarve region, and in Herdade da Corte in particular, great potential for developing our personal project and making “our Algarve” known and sharing local history, culture & lifestyle.
That’s why this project is in constant development, and goes beyond just an accomodation business. We’re developing a Responsible Tourism Portal about Algarve and, with specific partnerships, we started a small niche markets travel agency to develop packages, activities and events for slow travelers, hikers, trekkers, cyclers, birdwatchers, voluntourists, ecotourists, adventurers, cultural tourists, or only curious, in a way that you have a more profound and real contact with your destiny. The proposal of Herdade da Corte is to give you the chance to get to know the most authentic Algarve, authentic in terms of the “go local” concept, of its closeness to the destination and its people.
